About Us

Who We Are

The Corner Boxing Club is a nonprofit organization that offers diverse boxing classes and programs that are open to all members of the community and cater to all levels of experience. Whether it’s never having thrown a punch before or having years of experience competing, The Corner can help anyone achieve their goals. In addition to classes, we offer personal training for those interested in one-on-one sessions. All of our coaches have the qualifications and experience to take your training to the next level. Please visit our Classes page and our Personal Training page for more information.

Our general membership base helps support our two central programs, Rusty Gloves and Youth Development. Our membership also serves to create an environment that integrates our senior and youth program participants into a community outside of their own demographic. This unique characteristic of our programs aid in decreasing isolation and encourages inclusivity and community connection. These programs place an emphasis on equity and inclusivity through prioritizing accessibility for the underserved and vulnerable populations in our communities. Please visit our Rusty Gloves and Youth Development pages to learn more about how The Corner Boxing Club is making a difference in our community.

  Our History

In 2014 Carrie Barry, former captain of Team USA and 10X National Champion, founded The Corner Boxing Club in hopes of creating a gym that welcomes all members of the community and prioritizes diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance. The success and immense community support that followed allowed The Corner Boxing Club to develop a nonprofit arm, Off The Ropes, that focuses on members of our community who are often forgotten. In 2018, The Corner Boxing Club merged with Off The Ropes and is now an entirely nonprofit organization. This allowed The Corner Boxing Club to fully mobilize its resources and focus its attention on supporting marginalized communities.

As a nonprofit organization, we often rely on individual donations to support our programs and the people they serve. Please, consider making a tax deductible donation to help us continue our work in the community. We are incredibly thankful for our supporters!
